Insulation Services in Colleyville, TX

Insulation Services for Colleyville Homes
Dimensional Contracting is an insulation contractor, and the insulation we do is attic insulation. We blow loose fill fiberglass and cellulose across the attic floor, fit batts where the space suits them, take out material that has failed and replace it, seal the air leaks underneath, and put the attic’s ventilation right. Colleyville is inside the area we cover.
Saying that up front saves everyone a phone call. If you are pricing insulation in Colleyville and the job is an attic, this is the right place to start. Walls, crawlspaces and duct work are outside what we do.
We begin by getting into the attic and measuring what is already there, because what matters is the condition and the depth of what is up there, not the age of the house. The attic evaluation is free. Call (817) 502-9282.
Our Services
The Insulation Work We Do in Colleyville
One trade, done on whole attics rather than sections of them. If one area has been damaged, we check the condition of the material across the whole attic floor before recommending anything, and then either add more over what is there or take the old material out and put new in. Wet or contaminated material comes out rather than being covered over.
Insulation for Existing Homes
We work on houses people already live in, not new builds. That means working around what is up there: ducts, wiring, a boarded storage area, the bathroom fan somebody added later.
Insulating, adding to what is there, removing, replacing, air sealing and ventilation are all part of it. Every service we offer is on one page.
Attic Insulation
A few things tell us what we are dealing with: insulation that has settled below the depth it was installed at, bare patches along the eaves, and sections pushed aside by somebody running a cable or fitting a light.
None of that is visible from inside the house, which is why the depth gets measured in several places rather than guessed at. Residential attic insulation explains how we measure an attic and what we recommend from it.
Loose Fill Fiberglass
Loose fill fiberglass arrives compressed, goes through the hose, and lands as a light, even layer that works its way around joists, ductwork and wiring. Batts have to be cut to fit around those same obstructions, which is harder to do without leaving gaps.
It is made from glass rather than plant fibre, and it settles very little once it is down, so the depth it goes in at is close to the depth it keeps. Blown-in attic insulation covers the materials and the method.
Blown-In Cellulose
Cellulose is the other loose fill we install. It is denser than fiberglass and made largely from recycled paper treated for fire resistance, and it reaches a given R-value in less depth. It also settles more, so it goes in above its target depth to allow for that.
Which of the two suits your attic depends on what is already in place, how deep the joists are, and how much ductwork is in the way. We install either one to the manufacturer’s coverage chart and level it to a measured depth rather than eyeballing it.
Adding More Insulation
If what is up there is dry, clean and just too shallow, we blow new material over the top across the whole attic. That is the cheaper route and it works. If it is wet or contaminated, it comes out first rather than being covered over.
Adding more insulation covers when topping up is enough and when it is not.
Removal and Replacement
Wet, contaminated, or carrying rodent droppings and nesting, and the old material comes out. Truck-mounted vacuum equipment and long hoses take it into bags outside rather than back through the house, and clearing, cleaning and sanitizing the attic floor is part of that job.
Replacement is the removal followed by the new install, with the attic floor looked over while it is clear. Insulation removal and replacement each have a page.
Attic Air Sealing
Insulation slows heat through a surface. It does not stop air moving through a gap.
Air gets through where something passes through the ceiling: plumbing stacks, wiring, top plates, open chases and the hatch. Sealing those is worth doing before new material goes down, and we do it with foam sealant and caulk. Attic air sealing shows where to look.
Ventilation, Soffit Intake and Electric Fans
An attic needs air in low at the soffits and out high, and both halves have to be clear for that to work. Soffit vents can end up buried under blown insulation or painted shut. We clear what has buried them, open up soffit intake where the eaves allow, and fit baffles so new material cannot smother it.
Attic fans we install, electric and solar. On an electric fan, what we do not do is swap the motor on its own. Attic ventilation and electric attic fan installation each have their own page.
What Goes In, and How Deep
Loose fill is the name for insulation that is blown in rather than laid down. Batts suit an attic with clean, regular joist bays and room to work in. Where ducts, wiring and irregular framing are in the way, loose fill covers more reliably, because it flows around them instead of having to be cut to fit.
Depth is the part homeowners tend to ask about, and depth on its own does not answer the question. Insulation is rated in R-value, which depends on the material as well as the thickness, and on how compressed it has become since it went in. ENERGY STAR recommends R-49 for an attic with no insulation, and R-38 added where there is already three to four inches in place, which is its recommendation for the climate zones this part of Texas falls in. Those are recommendations rather than building code.
So we measure in several spots rather than one, check the bare patches around the edges and the hatch, and work out what is actually in place before recommending anything. Whichever material goes in, we level it to a measured depth and keep it back from the soffit vents so the attic can still breathe.

What We Do Not Take On
Worth saying plainly, so nobody wastes a phone call. We do not install spray foam insulation and we do not install radiant barrier. On an electric attic fan, we do not swap the motor on its own.
We do not insulate walls or crawlspaces, and we do not take on duct work, soundproofing, commercial buildings or new construction. We do not offer attic cleaning on its own. Cleaning and sanitizing come only with a complete insulation removal and replacement: once the old material is out, we clear the attic floor and sanitize it before new insulation goes down.
If what your house needs is outside that list, we will tell you rather than quote for it. Every service we offer is set out on one page.

What Customers Have Said
“Great company! Single mother and felt very comfortable with the price and work. Everyone was very professional. They answered all my questions. Took me up in the attic and explained the process and took me up afterwards to check the job. On time and very conscience of making sure everything was cleaned up. The workers were respectful.” Simone H., Angi verified review, August 2021
“Added blown-in insulation to the attic. They contracted to add 12 inches but actually added a minimum of 14 inches or more. The crew was very professional, arrived early, and did the courtesy of checking that the furnace drip pan was not filled with insulation when they finished. They installed baffles around our ceiling lights so they wouldn’t get covered by insulation and overheat (a problem we had in the past.)” Ellen O., Angi verified review, December 2013

/ FAQS
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you do insulation in Colleyville, or only in Arlington?
Colleyville is inside the area we cover. We are based in Arlington and work across the surrounding cities from there.
The areas we serve lists the cities that have pages of their own.
What kind of insulation do you actually install?
Blown-in fiberglass and cellulose, which are both loose fill, and batts where the space suits them.
We do not install spray foam and we do not install radiant barrier. If someone has quoted you for either, that is not a job we take on.
Is this only attics, or do you do walls as well?
Attics only, and whole attics rather than sections of them.
Walls, crawlspaces, duct work, soundproofing, commercial buildings and new construction are all outside what we do.
Do I need the old insulation taken out first?
Only if it has failed. Dry, clean and too shallow means we can add over it. Wet, contaminated or full of rodent nesting means it comes out.
We look at the condition before we say which. Insulation removal covers how that job runs.
Will blowing in more insulation block the vents?
It will if it is done without baffles, and that causes its own problems. Bury the soffit intake and the attic has nothing to draw cool air from.
We check the soffit intake before and after and fit baffles where they are needed so it stays open.
Do you install attic fans in Colleyville?
Electric and solar, both. We install, repair and replace solar fans as well as electric ones. On an electric fan, a motor-only swap is not a job we take.
Our own roofing crew does the installing, so you do not need to hire a separate roofer for the fan.
